"Price Or Prestige?"

How do you choose a carpet cleaning company with so many choices available in the Atlanta area?  Believe me, competition is fierce for your cleaning dollar.  We all want a quality job at a fair price.  Every carpet cleaner has to decide what kind of company they're going to be.  Some offer the niche of leaving zero residue in your carpet, which appeals to some people.  Others bombard you with the prestige of their BIG name.  Still some offer dry cleaning as their niche.  Then, you have other companies who just want to be the cheapest in hopes that this will generate more appointments.

The question is, what kind of consumer are you?  Do you always use the cheapest goods and services to accomplish your goals?  I don't wear the cheapest clothes, drive the cheapest car, eat the cheapest food, or trust the cheapest service for any of my needs.  Finding a deal is one thing, but quality is paramount.  Most would agree.

SuperSteem is not a huge corporate giant of a company, but to our customers, we are king.  We provide the best possible cleaning available, except, we don't charge as much as some of the other bigger companies in the Atlanta area.  They have to charge so much because their advertising costs a fortune.  The funny thing is, people pay their price because of the prestige.  Then you have others who will call the $59.95 guy because they don't care about prestige or quality, only a cheap price.  SuperSteem is the sweet spot.  We give you all the prestige of hiring a BIG name company.  Great customer service and expert quality cleaning is our signature.  So, if your looking for value and prestige, you get both by choosing SuperSteem.

"Groupon Or No Groupon?

5/10/2013

Have you ever used Groupon to find a great deal on goods and services in the Atlanta area?  For a consumer, you can find great deals on your favorite Atlanta restaurants, products, and services.  But, does it make sense when it comes to getting your carpet cleaned?  Well, lets see.

Usually, a carpet cleaner will drastically cut their prices to get people to buy their Groupon.  They usually give you anywhere from 50-75% off the regular INFLATED price.  If you look closely, its probably only for 2 or 3 rooms of cleaning.  More than 80% of people who get their carpet cleaned have many more rooms than that.  Also, the Groupon is always for basic steam cleaning, never for deep cleaning, which is a lot extra.  So now that $29.95 Groupon is not such a good deal if your carpet is really dirty and you have 7 areas to be cleaned.  Carpet cleaners don't make money from the Groupon, Groupon does.  The way the carpet cleaner makes their money is by cleaning the rest of your house, and charging you extra for deep cleaning, carpet protection, pet treatment, and other add ons.  So, unless you only have a couple of rooms to be cleaned that are barely soiled, a Groupon for carpet cleaning can be pretty worthless.

Are You Really Getting A Good Deal?

So it is time for your carpet to be cleaned and now you have to decide what company to hire. Seems like an easy enough task, but with so many options, which one do you choose. Lets see, you could call the guys from TV and Local Atlanta radio that you see and hear all the time. Your friend used them and she told you how much she paid and you are not looking to spend that kind of money.

So you go on Craigslist or another classified ad site and look but there is so much spam and garbled text, you can't tell which company is reputable and which one's are scam artist. You don't want to pay a fortune but you don't want just anybody in your home.

After a little while you remember you have a couple of coupons from different carpet cleaners. You look through them and you choose the one that seems to be the best deal (aka the cheapest price). They are offering Whole House cleaned anywhere from $59-$89 or anywhere from $6.99 to $9.99 a room. I know you have seen them. I get them at my home all the time. Even I have to admit on the surface that looks like a great deal. I know the economy is bad and everyone is looking to save money wherever they can. But oh boy, looks can be deceiving, as you shall soon find out.

Okay, so you call and make and appointment with excitement, because you are getting such a great deal. It is the day of your appointment and you have all your furniture moved. The technician comes to your home. He is professional and courteous. He does a walkthrough of your home, and then he starts dropping the bomb. He points out trouble areas and tells you that you need extra this and extra that. The biggest one is the deep clean or deep scrub (which 75% of carpets need). I have heard of companies charging anywhere from $35-$45 per room for this. So your $6.99 to $9.99 a room just became $41.99 to $44.99 a room(minimum). And your Whole House special just went from $59-$89 to $240-$300 (minimum). That is what we in the business call "bait and switch".  If you have ever used one of these companies all of this should sound really familiar.

So ask yourself, did you really get a good deal?  Wouldn't you have rather known what you would be paying before he showed up at your door. Maybe it was not in your budget at the time, but once they are in your home the pressure is on. You want a quality job so you are compelled to pay whatever they ask to get the job done right. I mean what if you went to the store to buy a gallon of milk and it was advertised at $3.50 and they charged you $4.50 at the register. You would be very upset! I know I would.

At SuperSteem we do not do business that way. I mean I am a great carpet cleaner, but a terrible salesman. We would rather let our work
justify the prices we charge. Our prices are higher than those guys, but guess what the price you are quoted is the price you pay. Customers call us all the time, we give them a quote and they say "But Carpet Cleaner A in Atlanta is charging $9.99 a room or $79.99 for the whole house." I try to warn them what is going to happen, some listen, but for the ones who don't I think it is funny because they will end up paying the $9.99 a room guy more than what we quoted.  Another thing I like to do is tell customers who think our prices are too high to call one of the big boys on TV or radio and see how much they quote them. Needless to say they usually call back. LOL.

The bottom line is quality carpet cleaning is not cheap but does not have to cost your first born child either. At SuperSteem we have built our reputation in the Atlanta area with great customer service, quality work, and painstakingly thorough attention to detail. We offer value packages to fit every budget. We are not the cheapest but far from the most expensive. So call us today for the highest quality work at a fair price.

So next time you get one of those super cheap coupons, ask yourself
"Am I really getting a good deal."
